Career
Somila Cungwa, also known by his pen name
S.O-Squared; The Soul Hand, was born in a small village
called Mntlabathi on the outskirts of Mdantsane Township in the
Eastern Cape. S.O-Squared started writing poetry at the age of 12.
He is a musician, poet, creative writer, guitarist, singer and
entrepreneur doing a genre called RapSoul (Umngqungqo nokubonga);
Afro Soul, Afro Jazz, Funk, Xhosa Folk, Rap/Hip-Hop and Acoustic
Soul.
Collabs
S.O-Squared is also involved in the NGO, the Plant A Seed project,
which grooms and nurtures children from primary schools to allow
them to write and recite poetry. He is also a Content Analyst at Mellow Moments,
a poetry group based in East London that hosts poetry sessions around the city.
The group's vision is to build a platform for artists/poets to educate & entertain (edutain) people
through creative works of art.
